Junior QA Engineer
Teak is reinventing refunds, striving to make every experience refundable. Our strength lies in our proprietary Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) embedded refund protection platform, which provides massive distribution and a top-tier digital purchasing experience for insurance carriers, event organizers, booking platforms, ticketing systems, and their consumers. Our e-commerce solution is embedded in millions of carts each month, and we're seeking a talented Junior QA Engineer to join our high-performing team.
We're seeking a talented Junior QA Engineer who will effectively fit into an existing team and contribute to project success by ensuring the quality of our technology stack. You will play a crucial part in performing foundational testing tasks under the guidance of senior QA members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Foundational Documentation and Testing: Ownership of core manual testing tasks, including writing and executing basic manual test cases, performing manual regression testing, and meticulously documenting test execution, bugs, and contributing to process documentation.
- Collaborate with Senior QA Engineers or product owners to create and update test cases in TestRail for new features and releases, aligning test plans with user stories and business requirements.
- Assist with exploratory testing on new and existing features, especially regarding partner site testing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the software, identify bugs and document them in the bug tracking system, and ensure that fixes are implemented correctly.
- Communicate test results and findings to stakeholders, providing regular updates on testing progress and issues.
- Learn and experiment with new testing methodologies, automation concepts (e.g., Playwright), and AI-assisted tools for test planning.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and QA syncs, providing regular updates on testing progress and issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to think logically and determine test cases from a project description.
- Ability to learn and apply new testing methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Basic understanding and ability to write code in TypeScript.
- No formal QA experience is required, but you must be technically curious, eager to learn, and excited to grow.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with manual testing tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience developing with Python and Typescript.
- Enthusiasm for learning test automation concepts and frameworks (e.g., Playwright).
- Interest in experimenting with AI tools for test planning and productivity.
